The Ethiopian Public Health Institute’s (EPHI) Food Science and Nutrition Laboratory is accredited by the Ethiopian National Accreditation Office (ENAO) to perform tests in the field of Chemical testing on October 6, 2016.
According to ENAO the facility is accredited in accordance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2005, general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. The accreditation demonstrates technical competence for a defined scope and the operation of a laboratory quality management system. While this certificate remains valid, which is until April 05, 2021, EPHI’s Food Science and Nutrition Laboratory is authorized to use the relevant ENAO accreditation symbol to issue test reports and/or certificates.
The mandate of ENAO is to accredit, by formal third-party recognition, the competence of Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) to perform specific activities, such as test, calibrations, certifications or inspections.
