የአሜሪካ ኤምባሲ ምክትል የሚሽን ኃላፊ ካትሪን ሮድሪጌዝ የኢትዮጵያ የሕብረተሰብ ጤና ኢንስቲትዩትን ጎበኙ
የአሜሪካ ኤምባሲ ምክትል የተልዕኮ ኃላፊ ካትሪን ሮድሪጌዝ በኢትዮጵያና በአሜሪካ መካከል በሕብረተሰብ ጤና ዙሪያ የሚደረገው ትብብር የሕብረተሰብ ጤና ድንገተኛ አደጋ ስጋቶች አስቀድሞ ለመከላከል እየተሰሩ ያሉ ስራዎችን በኢንስቲትዩቱ በመገኘት ጎብኝተዋል::
የተከበሩ ካትሪን ሮድሪጌዝ በጉብኝታቸው ወቅትም እንደተናገሩት በአሜሪካ የበሽታ ቁጥጥር እና መከላከል ማዕከል ( US CDC) የሚደገፉ ፕሮግራሞች ኢትዮጵያውያንንና አሜሪካውያንን እንደ የኢቦላ ወረርሽኝ ካሉ አዳዲስ የጤና ስጋቶች ለመጠበቅ እየሰሩ መሄኑን ተናግረው ትብብሩ በዚህ ብቻ ሳይወሰን በዓለም አቀፍ የጤና ደህንነት፣ በኤችአይቪ/ኤድስ፣ በክትባት፣ በላቦራቶሪ ሥርዓት እና በድንገተኛ ጤና ምላሽ ዘርፎች ጭምር እንደሆነ ተናግረዋል::
የኢትዮጵያ ሕብረተሰብ ጤና ኢንስቲትዩት ዋና ዳይሬክተር ዶ/ር መሳይ ሀይሉ በበኩላቸው የኢትዮጵያ ሕብረተሰብ ጤና ኢንስቲትዩት በሕብረተሰብ ድንገተኛ የጤና አደጋዎችን ለመከላከል እና ለመቆጣጠር ፣የብሄራዊ ላብራቶሪ የአቅም ግንባታ ላይ፣ እንዲሁም በሕብረተሰብ ጤና ምርምር ዘርፍ በትኩረት እየሰራ መሆኑን ተናግረው የብሄራዊ የጤና መረጃ እና የአንድ ጤና ላይም ትርጉም ያለው ለውጥ ማምጣቱን አስረድተዋል:: በአሜሪካ እና በኢትዮጵያ መካከል የሚደረጉ ትብብሮች የላቦራቶሪ ምርመራ ፣ የድንገተኛ የሕብረተሰብ ጤና አደጋዎች ምላሽ ሥርዓቶችን እና የጥናትና ምርምር ስራዎችን በማጠናከር የሀገራትን አቅም በማጎልበት ረገድ ሚናቸው ከፍተኛ በመሆኑ ትብብሩ ተጠናክሮ እንደሚቀጥል ተናግረዋል::በኢንስቱትዩቱ የተደረገው ጉብኝትም የትብብሩን ደረጃ የሚያሳይ በመሆኑ ለአሜሪካ መንግስትና ሕዝብ ምስጋናቸውን አቅርበዋል::
The Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) was pleased to welcome Ms. Catherine Rodriguez, Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Embassy in Ethiopia, for a visit to the Institute to observe the longstanding partnership between Ethiopia and the United States in strengthening public health and health security.
During the visit, Ms. Rodriguez discussed with Dr. Mesay Hailu, the Director General of the EPHI, and witnessed the impact of collaborative efforts in disease surveillance, laboratory diagnostics, emergency preparedness and response, immunization, HIV/AIDS, and broader global health security initiatives. The discussions also highlighted the joint commitment to preventing, detecting, and responding to emerging public health threats, including Ebola, Marburg, mpox, cholera, measles, polio, malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV.
The visit reaffirmed the strong partnership between EPHI, the U.S. Government, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in building resilient public health systems and enhancing national and regional capacity to protect communities from current and future health threats.
EPHI values the continued collaboration with its partners and remains committed to advancing public health excellence for a healthier and safer Ethiopia.
