Dr.Endale Amare

Dr Endale Amare is a Senior Researcher of Food and Nutrition Sciences and Head of the Nutrition and Food Science Research Division. He worked for academic and research institutes at different capacities since 2009. Dr. Endale holds a PhD in Food Science and Nutrition from Addis Ababa University. He was a research fellow at the Institute of Research for Development, Montpellier, France and a Coimbra Group Young African Researchers Scholarship Fellow at the Department of Agronomy, Food, Natural Resources, Animals and the Environment (DAFNAE), University of Padova, Italy.
Dr. Endale’s research interest focuses on valorizing underutilized and indigenous foods, food bioactives and their bioactivity, food composition, functional foods, nutrient bioavailability, micronutrients, sustainable and healthy diet, food security and sustainable food system. Dr. Endale is the coordinator of the Periodic Table of Food Initiative (PTFI) Center of Excellence for East and Central Africa and Director of the Good Food Fellowship Program at the Ethiopian Public Health Institute.
