Dr. Getachew is Deputy Director General at the Ethiopian Public Health Institute since March 2019. He has led multimillion projects that involve various stakeholders and disciplines. He had served as Director, Human Resource for Health and played key role in restructuring health workforce education, development and management at the Ethiopian ministry of health. He had served as president of Students Union of Addis Ababa University-Medical Faculty (College of Health Sciences) during his medical school years. Dr. Getachew has a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Gonder, Ethiopia and a Medical Doctorate Degree from the Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia.
