The Ethiopian Field Epidemiology Training Program (EFETP) held a mentorship training workshop in Bishefto, Addis Ababa for residents and graduates from eight affiliate universities. Also in attendance were World Health Organization Surveillance Officers bringing the total of participants to 95. The one week training started on 28 March 2016 and ended on 2 April 2016. The training was facilitated by EFETP Program Director – Dr. Tatek Bogale Anbessie and Resident Advisor – Dr. Zegeye Hailemariam among others.

Scientific Writing Workshop and Mentorship Training
The Ethiopia FETP held a Scientific Writing Workshop and Mentorship Training for residents and faculty of the eight collaborating universities of the Ethiopia FETP in Adama, Addis Ababa from 18 – 23 April 2016. Dr Tatek Bogale – EFETP Program Director and Dr. Zegeye Hailemariam – Resident Advisor were among other facilitators who made presentations at the workshop. Dr Bogale made a presentation on the current expansion program of Ethiopia FETP.

Ethiopia FETP visits Nigeria FELTP
A delegation from the Ethiopia Field Epidemiology Training Program visited the Nigeria Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program (NFELTP) from 10 – 16 April 2016. The purpose of the visit was to observe how the program operates so as to implement some of the good practices in the Ethiopia FETP. The delegation comprised of: Dr Tatek Bogale – Program Director, Dr. Zegeye Hailemariam – Program Coordinator/ Resident Advisor, Dr Yoseph Worku – Academic Coordinator, Mr Kedir Seid – Assistant Director Human Resource, Federal Ministry of Health.
