Exposure Assessment and Bio-monitoring of Heavy Metals in the Residents of Addis Ababa

Heavy metals are toxic, non-degradable can accumulate in the food chains and magnify in organisms. Exposure to heavy metals can pose acute or chronic health problem including cardiovascular disease, reduction in immunological defense, renal dysfunction, genotoxicity and mutagenicity. In Ethiopian very few studies have found level of heavy metals in blood and urine samples only. This study will assess the effect of heavy metals on human health Ethiopia.

Objectives

To assess heavy metals exposure level and its association with clinical biomarkers including hematological parameters, liver and renal functionality biomarkers in the residents of Addis Ababa City
