EPHI has received supplies for its Integrated Genomics & Bioinformatics Surveillance and Research Facility

Ethiopian Public Health Institute (#EPHI) has received supplies for its Integrated Genomics and Bioinformatics Surveillance and Research Facility through the EPiGEN (#EDCPT3-funded) project.
This advancement will significantly enhance Ethiopia’s capacity for:
– Genomic surveillance (tracking pathogens like SARS-CoV-2, antimicrobial-resistant bacteria, and other emerging threats)
– Bioinformatics research (analyzing genetic data to inform public health decisions)
– Disease outbreak response (enabling faster, data-driven interventions)
Special thanks to Professor Tobias Rinke de Wit and Dr. Dawit Wolday for their leadership and contributions to strengthening Ethiopia’s public health infrastructure.
The Ethiopian Public Health Institute commends Africa CDC for its continued commitment and support.
This initiative aligns with global efforts to leverage genomics and bioinformatics in combating infectious diseases and improving health outcomes.
