EPHI, London School of Hygiene Conducted a Learning Conference

The Ethiopian Public Health Institute’s (EPHI) Health Systems and Reproductive Health Directorate has organized a learning conference on November 16, 2023 on the findings of the collaboratve projects undertaken with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).
Dr. Getachew Tollera, Deputy Director General of EPHI on his welcome and opening speech indicated that the Institute undertakes researches on priority health problems in collaboration with national and internatinal development partners; generates and disseminates the research findings to improve the health of the general public.
“Among them, through our Health Systems and Reproductive Health Directorate (HSRHD), we have conducted various national household and health facility-based surveys such as immunization coverage survey, STEPS survey to access NCD risk factors, National Health Equity, 2019 Mini DHS, SPA, SARA EmONC, and so on. It is also highly believed that such events would facilitate ample opportunities for conducting collaborative researches among policy makers, academics, and research institutes giving a chance for further discussions,” said Dr. Getachew.
According to Dr. Theodros Getachew, Director of HSRHD, the conference is organized in four thematic areas; Equity in Health, Prenatal Health, Quality of Care, Effective Coverage and Research Capacity Development.
LSHTM Deputy Director General Prof. Caroline Relton, and representatives from Ministry of Health, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, universities and research institutes are participating on the learning conference.
