EPHI Opened Office at Gambella to Strengthen Ethiopia Guinea worm eradication program

The Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) opened an office in Gambella to strengthen the efforts of the Ethiopian Drancunculiasis Eradication Program (EDEP), to closely monitor and strengthen implementation of the program and Public Health Emergency Management activities of Gambella region.
“The Ethiopian Guinea worm eradication program office is also going to hire experts for Gambella region, Abobo, Gog woreda to strengthen the program implementation in Guinea worm high risk (level I) areas. The office and the recruited staffs for Guinea worm high risk area of Gambella region has great contribution for the eradication endeavors of guinea worm and strengthening public health emergency management in the region,” said Mesfin Wossen, national program coordinator of Guinea worm eradication.
