PHEM Carried Out Pre-ARM Meeting

The Ethiopian Public Health Institute’s (EPHI) Center for Public Health Emergency Management (PHEM) organized National Public Health Emergency Management Pre-Annual Review Meeting (ARM) consultative meeting on March 17 & 18, 2018 in Bishoftu town.
The meeting aimed to strengthen partnerships among key players (stakeholders), to discuss on six month PHEM activities at national and regional level and make the necessary preparation for the upcoming ARM meeting.
Dr. Feyessa Regassa EPHI’s PHEM Acting Director presented the background, objective and expected outcomes of the meeting while Mr. Zewdu Assefa, PHE Early Warning and Response Team Leader, presented the center for Public Health Emergency Management Performance and nationwide situation updates followed by Tigray and Amhara Regions PHEM Process owner’s presentation of the six month PHEM activities updates. Each presentation was followed by panel discussions. In addition to the reports panel discussions on the role of laboratories in public health emergency management and emergency supply chain management were also conducted.
Finally after the presentations and discussions the way forward has been discussed and agreement has been reached to conduct PHEM ARM in Dire Dawa City Administration in August, 2018.
