Basic Level Training held on Field Epidemiology

The Ethiopian Public Health Institute Public Health Emergency Center, in collaboration with CDC-Ethiopia and WHO has conducted a workshop on field epidemiology basic level training for Somali Regional State public health officers from September 19 to 23, 2016 at Jigjiga.
Mr. Ali Abdi Salah Head of the Public Health Emergency Center of the Somali Regional State Health Bureau on his opening remarks said that, this basic level field epidemiological training is very important to strengthen the surveillance capacity of our regional public health officers to control any outbreak and to give response timely.
According to the workshop organizer’s of the Ethiopian Public Health Institute public health emergency center, the objective of the training is to capacitate and strengthening the focal public health officers of the Somali Regional Health bureau to excel surveillance on all reportable diseases in all areas of the Somali Regional State.
Mr. Abrham Lilay from public health emergency center of the Institute in his closing remarks said that, after this training all of you could be able to undertake better surveillance activities and we expect a good performance and achievements in your respective woredas and hospitals.
The field epidemiology basic level training workshop attracted about 57 trainees from Somali Regional State Woredas and Hospitals.
