Workshop Discussed on Roadmap to Eliminate Cholera
A half day workshop organized by the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH),
Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) and the World Health Organization
(WHO) to discuss on the Global Roadmap to Eliminate Cholera by 2030 and its
impacts on individual countries was held on July 23, 2011 at ECA.
The Ethiopian government is committed to develop a national Cholera
elimination plan to end the epidemic by 2030 in line with the framework of
GTFCC with all partners and stakeholders.
This high level meeting focused on how the Global Task Force on Cholera
Control (GTFCC) supports the most at-risk areas in countries like Ethiopia,
AFRO initiatives and other country experiences, International Health
Regulation (IHR) perspective to Cholera elimination and Ethiopia country AWD
and cholera situation
Discussions on the Launch of the Road map to develop the Multi Sectoral National Cholera
Elimination Plan for Ethiopia, Financial and technical support from partners to the
development of the Multi Sectoral National Cholera Elimination Plan for Ethiopia were
some of the discussion points of the workshop.
