የስርዓተ ምግብ፣ የአካባቢ ጤናና፣ ተላላፊ ያልሆኑ በሽታዎች ምርምር ዳይሬክቶሬት የበጀት አመቱን የመጀመሪያ ሩብ አመት አፈጻጸሙን ገመገመ
ኢትዮጵያ የሕብረተሰብ ጤና ኢንስቲትዩት የስርዓተ ምግብ፣ የአካባቢ ጤናና፣ ተላላፊ ያልሆኑ በሽታዎች ምርምር ዳይሬክቶሬት የ2018 ዓ.ም በጀት አመት የመጀመሪያ ሩብ አመት የስራ አፈጻጸሙን ግምገማና የዉይይት መድረክ ህዳር 01 ቀን 2018 የዳየሬክቶሬቱ ዳይሬክተር ዶ/ር ማስረሻ ተሰማ ያስጀመሩ ሲሆን በንግግራቸዉም የመድረኩ ዓላማ በበጀት አመቱ የመጀመሪያ ሶስት ወራት የተሰሩ ስራዎችን ገምግሞ ጠንካራና ደካማ ጎኖችን በመለየት ቀጣይ ስራዎችን በተሳካ ሁኔታ ማከናወን ማስቻል መሆኑን ገልጸዋል።
በስብሰባው በዳይሬክቶሬቱ ስር የሚገኙት አራቱም ክፍሎች ማለትም የስርዓተ ምግብና የምግብ ሳይንስ ምርምር ክፍል፣ የምግብ ደህንነትና አንትሮፖሎጅ ምርምር ክፍል፣ የተላላፊ ያልሆኑ በሽታዎች ምርምር ክፍልና የአካባቢ ጤና ምርምር ክፍል በቡድን መሪዎቻቸዉ አማካኝነት በክፍላቸዉ ስለሚገኙት ፕሮጀክቶችና ስራዎች የደረሱበትን ሂደት፣ የታዩ ጠንካራና ደካማ ጎኖችና ያጋጠሟቸዉን ችግሮች እንዲሁም መፍትሄዎቻቸዉን በዝርዝር አቅርበዋል። በዚህ ሩብ አመት ሁሉም የታቀዱ ስራዎች በስኬት የተከናወኑ ሲሆን አንዳንዶቹ ክፍሎች በሩብ አመት ካቀዱት በላይ መፈፀማቸዉን ሪፖርት አድርገዋል። ይህ በእንዲህ እንዳለ የሰዉ ሃይል እጥረት፣ የላብራቶሪ እቃዎች አለመሟላትና የመብራት መቆራረጥ ያጋጠሙ ችግሮች መሆናቸዉም ተገልጿል። እነዚህንም ችግሮች ለመፍታት አዳዲስ ሰራተኞችን በዝዉዉር ማምጣት መቻሉንና ያሉትን የላቦራቶሪ መሳሪያዎች ሁሉም ክፍሎች በጋራ መጠቀም መቻላቸዉን ጠቅሰዋል።
በተጨማሪ ዶ/ር ማስረሻ ከዳይሬክቶሬቱ ሰራተኞች ጋረ በቀረበዉ ሪፖርት ላይ ስለተነሱ ችግሮችና የመፍትሄ ሃሳቦች፣ በስራ ላይ መኖር ስለሚገባው ስነምግባር፣ ከአጋር ድርጅቶች ጋር መኖር ስላለበት ትብብር እንዲሁም የጥናት ጽሁፍ ህትመትን በተመለከተ ሰፊ ዉይይት አድርገዋል። ስለሆነም አዳዲስ ባለሙያዎችን በዝዉውር ማምጣት፣ ጊዜያዊ ሰራተኞችን መቅጠር፣ የላቦራቶሪ እቃዎችን መግዛት፣ የጀነሬተር ግዥ ሂደትን ማጠናቀቅ ዋና ዋና የመፍትሄ አቅጣጫዎች መሆናቸዉ ተገልጿል።
EPHI’s Nutrition, Environmental Health, and Non-Communicable Diseases Research Reviews Its First Quarter Performance of the Fiscal Year.
The Nutrition, Environmental Health, and Non-Communicable Diseases Research Directorate, of the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI), conducted the first quarter review meeting of the current Ethiopian fiscal year on November 10, 2025, at the National Training Center.
The meeting was officially opened by Dr. Masresha Tessema, Director of the Directorate, and in his speech, he said, ‘The purpose of this meeting is to assess the work done in the first three months of the year, to identify strengths and weaknesses, and to enable the successful performance of future work.
At the meeting, the four divisions under the directorate, which are the Nutrition and Food Science Research Division, the Food Safety and Anthropology Research Division, the Non-Communicable Diseases Research Division, and the Environmental Health Research Division, presented in detail the progress of projects and activities they are engaged in, the strengths and weaknesses, and the problems they encountered, as well as solutions undertaken to tackle the problems. In this quarter, all planned activities were successfully completed, and even some divisions reported performing more than what they had planned for the quarter. However, shortage of human resources, lack of laboratory equipment, and power outages were reported to be the major challeges they encountered. In order to solve the the problems it was mentioned that professionals have joined the Directorate through transfer modalities and the exsiting laboratory equipments are shared among the professionals.
Dr. Masresha while addressing the comments and concerns raised on the reports and by the participants explained that always work ethics should be maintained during engagements with partner organizations and as well as in the process of research paper publications. And also bringing new employees through transfer, hiring temporary employees, purchasing additional laboratory equipment, and completing the generator purchase process have been set as directions to tackle the challenges.
