EPHI and the Ethiopian AI Institute Pledged to Work Together
The Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) and the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute (EAII) have pledged to work together towards a common goal of achieving the set goals of both institutes in serving the nation at large.
Concluding a half-day working visit to the EAII here yesterday, a visiting team of EPHI led by Deputy Director General of the Institute, Dr. Getachew Tollera, expressed readiness to work in alliance with EAII for the common good of the two institutes. Dr. Getachew Tollera said during the bilateral discussion held after the working visit that the two institutes should work in alliance with EAII to become more fruitful in their respective activities.
Senior leadership members drawn from both EPHI and EAII agreed to craft areas of common agreement and prepare memorandum of understanding (MoU). The two sides agreed to assign technical working team that will meet soon to produce the agreement and MoU.
The visiting team of EPHI includes Research Advisor, to Deputy Director General Office, Dr. Assefa Deressa, Director of Food Science and Research Directorate, Dr. Masresha Tessema, Director of Health System and Reproductive Health Research Directorate, Dr. Thewodros Getachew, and Data Scientist at National Data Management and Analytics Center, Mandefro Legesse.
The leadership team from EAII composed of the Deputy Director General, Dr. Taye Girma, Health Research Team Support Division Deputy Director, Dr. Hiwot Taye, Interpretable AI and Re-Enforcement learning Division Director, Samuel Rahimeto and Health Research Team Coordinator, Dr. Hasset Tamirat.
