EPHI, Ministries and Stakeholders to Develop EDEP Action Plan

The Ethiopian Public Health Institute’s (EPHI) Public Health Emergency Management (PHEM) in collaboration with World Health Organization, The Carter Center and other Ministerial stakeholders have started a two day workshop on January 3, 2019 to develop this year’s Plan of Action (PoA) for the Ethiopian Guinea Worm Eradication Program (EDEP).
During the opening day the challenges during the implementation of the program and recommendations for future actions were presented by Mesfin Wossen who is coordinator of EDEP at EPHI.
“The PoA should be based on the 15 recommendations forwarded on the 23rd Annual Review Meeting of EDEP. Mainly the objective of this workshop is to produce comprehensive EDEP operational PoA for this year with the involvement of key partners and stakeholders with shared activities and responsibilities,” said Mesfin.
