EPHI’s Clinical Chemistry Lab Received Accreditation
The Ethiopian Public Health Institute’s (EPHI) National Clinical Chemistry Reference Laboratory received accreditation certificate from the Ethiopian National Accreditation Office (ENAO) on June 9, 2017.
The accreditation is awarded to eight test parameters which are AST, ALT, Creatinine, Urea, Cholesterol, Triglyceride, Glucose and Total Protein in accordance with the requirement of ISO 15189: 2012.
EPHI’s laboratory staffs have worked hard for this successful achievement in collaboration with the Institute’s management and funding bodies.
According to Zeleke Geto of EPHI’s National References Laboratory for Clinical Chemistry this is an important milestone in the continuing growth and success of the country’s health care system.
“Accreditation shows our commitment to providing the highest levels of quality care to our patients and researchers. Accreditation by the ENAO is proof of this commitment, and signifies that we have met the rigorous standards of an internationally recognized third party. We are proud to have met the challenge of accreditation, and intend to consistently uphold the principles of quality improvement and patient care in the future,” said Zeleke.
