One of China’s leading genetics researchers, Professor Huanming Yang, gave a Public Lecture
Professor Huanming Yang, chairman of the board and distinguished professor of Genomics, BGI- China, chairman and co-founder of the Beijing Genomics Institute gave a public lecture at the Ethiopian Public Health Institute(EPHI) training center on Sept 23, 2019.
Professor Yang gave a public lecture on the topic “Omics and Agro/Food of the future” and talked about the human gene sequencing (Genomics sequencing) and non-communicable disease genes. He stressed the importance of collaboration and coordination to secure an optimum result in the research.
After the lecture discussions were conducted. The Director General of EPHI Dr. Ebba Abate stated that the lecture is informative and looks through different dimensions. He also mentioned the different areas that Ethiopia and China could work in collaboration hence without collaboration it is difficult to get the expected outcomes.
Finally, Dr. Yang delivered a gift to EPHI’s Director General Dr.Ebba Abate
