Stakeholders Consultative Workshop held on the Second Five Years Strategic Plan
The Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI), has conducted a stakeholders consultative workshop on the second five years strategic plan (2015 to 2020) from June 18 to 20, 2015 at Adama. According to the workshop organizers, the consultative workshop is conducted to incorporate relevant inputs and expertise comments from different stakeholders that would enrich the second five years strategic plan of the Institute

Dr. Amha Kebede, Director General of the Ethiopian Public Health Institute, in his opening remarks said that, the Institute has the experience in involving relevant stakeholders and partners during the preparation process of high level documents including in the preparation of the first five years strategic plan. “Preparing such strategic plan in consultation with the stakeholders and partners is very important as it strengthen our collaboration and coordination” he added.
Dr. Amha has also briefed the participants on the roles and responsibilities of the Institute as per the new mandate given by the council of Ministers regulation No.301/2013. He also presented the major achievements and challenges of the Institute’s within the last five years.
Parallel sessions of four group discussions were conducted based on the selected thematic areas: Research and technology transfer, Public Health Emergency management, Quality Laboratory system and Leadership and management.
In the stakeholders consultative workshop, 131 participants were participated representing FMOH, Agencies, Regional Health Bureaus, Specialized Hospitals, Associations, WHO, UNICEF, CDC-Ethiopia and ASLM.
