The leadership development program for the management members of the Ethiopian Public Health Institute has been conducted successfully.

The leadership development training session for senior management members of the Ethiopian Public Health Institute was
held in the town of Bishoftu from August 10–13, 2022.
The training is focused on enhancing the management team members’ capacity for leadership.
Along with other relevant leadership and management training topics, the program also addresses
team performance, system organization, working with stakeholders, and other related topics.
Dr. Messay Hailu, the general director of the Ethiopian Public Health Institute, stated at the start of
the training program that in order to carry out the duties and obligations of the institute, such types of
scientifically supported managerial and leadership trainings will assist both the professionals and the
institution in carrying out and successfully delivering its vision and purpose. The General Director expressed gratitude to
the UK Health Security Agency and expressed the expectation that their future cooperation will be strengthened.
Dr. Peter Robinson, the deputy director of the UK Health Security Agency, spoke on his behalf and announced that his
organization would have a plan to collaborate with the Ethiopian Public Health Institute in all areas, including in terms of technical and financial support.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Dr. Getachew Toller, the Deputy General Director of the
Ethiopian Public Health Institute, presented certificates to the participants. The program coordinators were also thanked by
the deputy general director for the carefully planned and carried out program.
The leadership training programs were successfully organized by the Ethiopian Public Health Institute
training center in association with the UK Health Security Agency. At the conclusion of the four-day program evaluation ,
it was revealed that these kinds of training sessions can significantly improve the leadership abilities in the health sector.
