Training on Mpox Specimen Management is Underway
Training of Trainees (ToT) on #Mpox Specimen Management which is organized by the Ethiopian Public Health’s (EPHI) Referral and Reference Laboratory Directorate has started today May 29, 2025 in Adama.
Dr. Saro Abdella, Deputy Director General of EPHI after welcoming the trainees mentioned all the previous related trainings and what is expected from the trainees after this training.
“You are expected to cascade what you will learn from this training to your colleagues and all the levels need to gain the knowledge you get from this training,” added Dr. Saro.
Mr. Feyissa Challa, Director of the EPHI’s Referral and Reference Laboratory Directorate, on his behalf highlighted the objectives and expected outcomes of the training.
Surveillance and Epidemiology, Case Management and Infection Prevention and Control, Biosafety and Biosecurity, and Sample Collection and Transportation of Mpox are the major training areas that will be entertained on the training which will continue until tomorrow.
