ላቦራቶሪዎች ላይ የተደረገው የአካባቢ እና ማህበራዊ ኦዲት ሪፖርት ተገመገመ Environmental and Social Audit Report on Laboratories was Reviewed
በዓለም ባንክ አፍሪካ ሲዲሲ ፕሮጀክት ድጋፍ የሚደረግላቸው ላቦራቶሪዎች ላይ የተደረገው የአካባቢ እና ማህበራዊ ኦዲት (Environmental and Social Audit) ሪፖርትና እና የተገኙትን ክፍተቶችን ለመቅረፍ ረቂቅ እቅድ ትግበራ ላይ ያተኮረ አውደ ጥናት የካቲት 14 ቀን 2ዐ17 ዓ.ም በአዳማ ከተማ ተካሄደ፡፡
በዓለም ባንክ አፍሪካ ሲዲሲ ፕሮጀክት ድጋፍ የሚደረግላቸው 31 ላቦራቶሪዎችን ተጠቃሚ ለማድረግ ይቻል ዘንድ የአካባቢ እና ማህበራዊ ኦዲት ማከናወን የፕሮጀክቱ የመጀመሪያ ምዕራፍ በመሆኑ በፕሮጀክቱ ተጠቃሚ በሆኑት 31 ላቦራቶሪዎች የአካባቢ እና ማህበራዊ ኦዲት/የዳሰሳ ጥናት ገለልተኛ በሆነ ተቋም ተደርጓል። የአካባቢ እና ማህበራዊ ኦዲት ዋናው ዓላማው በፕሮጀክቱ ተጠቃሚ በሆኑት ተቋማት ፕሮጀክቱ ተገባራዊ በሚሆነበት ወቅት በአካባቢ እና በማህበረሰቡ ላይ ከፕሮጀክቱ ትግበራ ጋር በተያያዘ እና አሁን ያሉትን ተግዳሮቶች በዘላቂነት መቅረፍ እንዲቻል ማድረግ ነው፡፡ በመሆኑም በአካባቢ እና ማህበራዊ የዳሰሳ ጥናት የተገኙ ተግዳሮቶች/ክፍተቶች በመለየት ክፍተቶችን ለመቅረፍ ይቻል ዘንድ የተዘጋጀው የድርጊት መርሃ ግብር (Corrective Action) እቅድ ላይ ውይይት ተደርጓል፤ በውይይቱ ወቅት ከተሳታፊዎች በርካታ ጠቃሚ ሀሳቦች እና ግብዓቶች ተሰጥተዋል።
በውይይቱ ወቅት የኢትዮጵያ የሕብረተሰብ ጤና ኢንስቲትዩት ምክትል ዋና ዳይሬክተር ዶ/ር ሳሮ አብደላ ባሰተላለፉት መልዕክት የተደረገው የአካባቢ እና ማህበራዊ ኦዲት የላቦራቶሪ አገልግሎቱ ተደረሽነትና ጥራት ከማሻሻል እንዲሁም ተጠያቂነት እና እምነትን ከማጎልበት አንጻር ጉልህ ሚና እንደሚጫወት ገልጸዋል፡፡ ስለሆነም ይህንን እቅድ በተሳካ ሁኔታ ለማከናወን በትብብር መስራት አስፈላጊ በመሆኑ የሚመለከታቸው ሁሉም ባለድርሻ አካላት እና የፕሮጀክቱ ተጠቃሚ ተቋማት በጋራ በመሆን የተዘጋጀውን የድርጊት መርሃ ግብር እቅድ ለመተግበር ሁሉም ኃላፊነቱን እንዲወጣ አሳስባለሁ በማለት መልክታቸውን አሰተላልፈዋል፡፡
በዚህ ውይይት ላይ ከክልል ጤና ቢሮ፣ የሕብረተሰብ ጤና ኢንስቲትዩት፣ የክልል ሪፈረንስ ላቦራቶሪዎች እና የፕሮጀክቱ ተጠቃሚ ሆስፒታል ኃላፊዎች እና ተወካዮች በዚህ ውይይት ላይ ተሳታፊ ሆነዋል፡፡
Environmental and Social Audit Report on Laboratories was Reviewed
An Environmental and Social Audit (ESA) report on 31 laboratories supported by the World Bank Africa CDC project was reviewed on February 21, 2025 in Adama. The aim of the workshop was to develop a corrective action plan to address the identified gaps.
During this meeting, discussions centered around enhancing the community’s health while minimizing potential threats to both environment and society. Participants included representatives from regional health bureaus, regional public health institutes, regional reference laboratories, hospital laboratory officials involved in the project, among others.
Dr. Saro Abdella, Deputy Director General of the Ethiopian Public Health Institute highlighted that this audit not only ensures compliance with national environmental laws and international standards but also helps identify potential risks early on, allowing for proactive mitigation strategies to be put in place. By conducting ESAs, laboratories can avoid costly fines associated with non-compliance, reduce operational costs through more efficient resource management, and enhance their reputation by demonstrating a commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. Additionally, the audit fosters a culture of transparency and accountability within the laboratories, which can lead to improved employee morale and productivity as well as increased stakeholder trust.
All stakeholders were urged to collaborate effectively towards implementing these plans to ensure enhanced public health outcomes through improved diagnostic capabilities.
