የEIOS የአቅም ግንባታ ስልጠና በመሰጠት ላይ ነው፡፡ Capacity Building Training on EIOS is Underway
የኢንስቲትዩቱ የቅኝትና የቅድመ ማስጠንቀቂያ ዳይሬክቶሬት የቅድመ-ማስጠንቀቂያ እና የሕብረተሰብ ጤና ስጋት ተግባቦት ዲቪዥን ከተለያዩ አጋር ድርጅቶች ጋር በመተባበር የዲጅታል ሚዲያ ክትትል/ Epidemic Intelligence from Open Source (EIOS) ለሕብረተሰብ ጤና አደጋ ቁጥጥር እና የአንድ ጤና ሴክተር ባለሙያዎች ከመጋቢት 1 እስከ 5/2017 ዓ.ም የሚቆይ የአቅም ግንባታ ስልጠና በመሰጠት ላይ ይገኛል፡፡
የስልጠናው ዋና ዓላማ የሚከሰቱ ወይም ሊከሰቱ የሚችሉ የተለያዩ የሕብረተሰብ ጤና አደጋዎችን ቀድሞ ለመለየትና ለውሳኔ ሰጪ አካላት ለማቅረብ የሚያስችል የተቀናጀ የዲጂታል ሚዲያ ክትትል ስርዓትን ለመዘርጋት ነው፡፡
አቶ ይበይን ሙሉዓለም የኢንስቲትዩቱ የቅድመ ማስጠንቀቂያ እና የሕብረተሰብ ጤና ስጋት ተግባቦትና የማህበረሰብ ተሳትፎ ዲቪዥን ኃላፊ በመክፈቻ ንግግራቸው ወቅት እንደገለጹት የሕብረተሰብ ጤና አደጋዎችን/ወረርሽኞች በተለመደው የቅኝት ስርዓት ብቻ መከታተልና የቅድመ ማስጠንቀቂያ ተግባራትን መከወን በቂ ባለመሆኑ የዲጂታል ሚዲያ ክትትል/EIOS/ ስርዓትን ከመደበኛው የቅኝት ስርዓት ጋር አስተሳስሮ መተግበር በሽታዎች/ወረርሽኞችን ቀደሞ ለመለየትም ሆነ ፈጣን ምላሽ ለመስጠት ትልቅ ሚና እንዳለው ጠቁመው ስልጠናው በዘርፉ ለተሰማሩ ባለሙያዎች አቅም ለመገንባት የተዘጋጀ መሆኑን ተናግረዋል፡፡
ወ/ሮ ሰናይ ተከስተ የዓለም ጤና ድርጅት በኢትዮጵያ የሕብረተሰብ ጤና አደጋ ዝግጁነትና ምላሽ ቡድን መሪ ተወካይ በበኩላቸው ዲጂታል ሚዲያ ክትትል (EIOS) ከተለያዩ ምንጮች መረጃዎችን በማሰባሰብ የቅድመ ልየታ እና ማስጠንቀቂያ ስራዎች ለማጠናከር እና በባለድርሻ አካላት መካከል ያለውን የመረጃ ልውውጥ ለማሻሻል የሚያግዝ ብሎም የዲጂታል የሕብረተሰብ ጤና አደጋ ቁጥጥር ስርዓት (ePHEM) ጋር ተቀናጅቶ ሊሰራ የሚችል ፕላትፎርም እንደሆነ ገልጸዋል፡፡
ስልጠናው በዓለም ጤና ድርጅት በበይነ መረብ እየተሰጠ ሲሆን በቀጣይ ቀናት የሕብረተሰብ ጤና አደጋዎችን በEIOS ስርዓት እንዴት አስቀድሞ መለየት እንደሚቻል በተግባር የተደገፈ ልምምድ የሚደረግ ሲሆን ከስልጠናው በኃላ ሰልጣኞች ፕላትፎርሙን በመጠቀም የጤና አደጋ መረጃዎችን የመለየት፣ መረጃዎችን ለውሳኔ ሰጪ አካላት የማሰራጨት እና የቅድመ ዝግጁነት ስራዎችን የማጠናከር ተግባራትን በትኩረት የሚያከናውኑ መሆናቸውን ከስልጠናው አስተባባሪዎች መረዳት የተቻለ ሲሆን የኢንስቲትዩቱ የቅኝትና የቅድመ ማስጠንቀቂያ፣ የድንበር ጤና፤ የጥሪ ማዕከል፣ የጤና ሚኒስቴር እንዲሁም የአንድ ጤና ሴክተር ባለሙያዎች ስልጠናውን እየተሳተፉ ይገኛሉ፡፡

The Early Warning and Public Health Risk Communication Division of the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) of Surveillance and Early Warning Directorate, in collaboration with various partner organizations, is conducting a capacity building training on Digital Media Surveillance/Epidemic Intelligence from Open Source (EIOS) for PHEM and one health sector experts from March 1 to 5, 2025.
The training aims to establish an integrated digital media monitoring system that can identify and provide decision-making bodies with early warning of various public health threats that have occurred or may occur.
According to Mr. Yibeyin Mulualem, EPHI’s Early Warning and Risk Communication and Community Engagement Division Head, detecting public health threats through the routine surveillance systems are not sufficient. Thus, integrating these systems with the digital platform like EIOS will enable the early detection and prevention of health threat to be more effective.
Mrs. Senay Tekeste, representative of World Health Organization Emergency preparedness and response Team lead, said that EIOS strengthens the early detection and warning system by gathering information from various sources and also enhances the information exchange and coordination between stakeholders; and it is a platform that ca be integrated with the electronic Public Health Emergency Management (ePHEM).
The training is being provided online by the World Health Organization (WHO Afro), and in the coming days, a practical exercise will be conducted on how to identify public health hazards using the EIOS system. After the training, the trainees will use the platform to identify health hazard information, disseminate information to decision-makers, and strengthen early preparedness activities. Experts from EPHI’s Surveillance and Early Warning, Border Health, Call Center, Ministry of Health and the One Health sector are participating in the training.
