HIV Drug Resistance Laboratory of the Institute receive an award

The HIV Drug Resistance (HIVDR) Laboratory of HIV and Other Viral Research Team in the Ethiopian Health and Nutrition Research Institute receives a recognition award in the first international Conference of the African Society of Laboratory Medicine (ASLM) for its achievement as an accredited laboratory.

ASLM awarded the HIVDR laboratory of the Institute as one of the six African countries laboratories for its being World Health Organization Accredited Laboratory, one of the 26 Laboratories in Africa and the World for HIVDR.

The Laboratory was awarded also for its performance on external quality assessment schemes for more than four times and maintained with a maximum point.

During the award ceremony, the African Society of Laboratory Medicine announced that HIVDR laboratory of the Institute is also recognized for its recent contribution to the HIVDR national level surveys and the capacity of the available human resource in the laboratory to support the HIVDR network in Africa.
