The 19th Health Annual Review Meeting Held at Gondar
The 19th Health Annual Review Meeting (ARM) which is organized by the Federal Ministry of Health (MoH) was held in Gondar from November 8 – 10, 2017 under the theme “Improving the performance of the health system a foundation for universal health coverage’’.
On the meeting’s exhibition the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) displayed various research findings and results conducted by the Institute’s directorates which were visited by Mr. Gedu Andargachew president of the Amhara region, the Minister of Health Prof. Yifru Birhan, State Minister of Health Dr. Amir Aman, State Minister of Health Dr. Kebede Worku, representatives of partner organizations and many invited guests.
In addition to these staff of EPHI, Dr. Eshetu Lemma has been awarded a medal for his life long services and achievements. Dr. Eshetu was born in August 18, 1955 and earned his MSC from Addis Ababa University’s Science Faculty and his Ph.D from London Health Sciences College with great distinction. Dr. Eshetu has served EPHI since 1979 as a biologist, lead researcher, director of Communicable and Non Communicable Diseases Research Directorate and then as head of the Scientific Ethical Review Office. He has contributed a great deal in numerous researches including introducing new ways of treating Tuberculosis.
Mr. Gezahegn Tesfaye, head of EPHI’s Public Relations has received the award on behalf of Dr. Eshetu from the hands of President of Amhara Region.
EPHI’s staffs have great respect for Dr. Eshetu and are proud that he has been awarded for his life time services.
